Downy mildews are caused by fungus-like oomycete pathogens which infect many greenhouse, nursery and agricultural crops. Although symptoms vary by plant, leaf blight is common. In some plants,downy mildew may become systemic, resulting in stunted growth. Downy mildew pathogens thrive in moist environments.
