How Distance Fire Ant Bait Works
- Bait containing active ingredient is highly attractive to fire ant workers.
- When broadcast or applied as mound treatment, worker ants take it back to feed to the queen and immature ants.
- Once eaten, active ingredient disrupts the queen’s ability to lay eggs.
- As a result, the worker ants are not replaced and the mound dies.
- Broadcast applications at first sign of ant activity, at very low rates, lead to colony prevention.
- Provides year-round application convenience.
- Can be applied by licensed commercial applicators to residential and non-residential sites, including around non-bearing fruit trees and around indoor and outdoor containers or field-grown ornamentals.
