Valent Promotes Three to Account, Sales Leadership Positions
Company continues ‘customer-focused’ charge through strategic customer support roles

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.—In an effort to deepen relationships with key customers, officials at Valent U.S.A. Corporation announced today several new leadership positions within the company’s agricultural sales organization.
Tom Caruso and Alison Williams have been named as national accounts managers, and Steve Anderson has been promoted to regional account manager for the West.
Matt Plitt, senior director of national crop sales, said, “customer focus is a key priority throughout the Valent organization. These new roles and the high-caliber people filling them will help us provide even stronger service to our customers in 2011 and beyond.”
“Among the three new managers, there are more than 50 years of industry experience. Each has spent years learning and understanding our customers’ businesses at the most fundamental level,” Plitt said. “In their new roles, Tom, Alison and Steve will be able to provide greater one-on-one service to our distribution customers—helping meet current needs and identifying new opportunities for our organizations to work together serving growers across the U.S.”
Plitt said the promotions are part of the company’s customer focus initiative. To complement local sales efforts and support the growing Valent product portfolio, company leaders are taking strategic steps to expand customer relationships and provide dedicated tools and resources for their customers’ business needs.
A respected Valent sales representative in the Midsouth region for a number of years, Williams most recently managed a combination of regional and national accounts for Valent. She will continue to be based in Memphis, Tenn.
Caruso also has been named a national accounts manager for Valent. He joined Valent as a sales representative in the Fresno, Calif., area in 2005 and most recently worked in account management with customers in California and the Pacific Northwest. He will continue to be based in Fresno.
Anderson has been promoted to regional account manager for the West. Anderson will manage the business relationships with Western distributors and help support new Valent products and initiatives—including new biorational and specialty solutions—that are especially important in protecting and improving many Western crops. Anderson joined Valent as a sales representative in the California coastal region in 2010 with more than 20 years of industry experience.
